Developed as an extension of SwedishAmerican Hospital?s Emergency Department (ED), this Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) provides space to extend patient observation and complete diagnostic testing.
The CDU facilitates ED throughput and addresses current billing and reimbursement regulations for sub-24 hour observation periods.
The new build-out features eight (8) open and two (2) closed patient bays, all visually monitored from a single nursing station core.? Two procedure rooms were also included and are used by pulmonologists and pulmonary function staff for branchoscopy procedures.
